Social Media Policy Training
About the Project
If your brand value drives millions in sales, why would you risk harming it? That’s what Symantec, a leader in the worldwide consumer antivirus market, asked themselves. As social media use exploded, Symantec watched as well-known companies faced public relations nightmares due to employees inappropriately using social media.
Symantec wanted to be proactive. They needed a training and communications solution that would seize attention and transform mindsets of an army of employees who had vastly differing levels of social media experience. Now. Klein responded with a interactive self-paced You-Tube + simple video game + commercial-like experience.
This was about getting employees to innately feel the risk of “not knowing” to their lives and employment. It wasn’t a training course. It was an interactive wake-up call.
Interactive paths personalized the content to each learner’s experience level. It dramatically linked the importance of knowing the policy with the company’s brand reputation and ultimately each employee’s accountability.
“Every once in a while you meet someone who immediately gains the whole of your trust and who you feel completely comfortable with leading projects for you.”

Training events and communications fix symptoms. Learning and performance solutions fix problems. That’s why Klein avoided going with a reactive, narrowly-focused project strategy. We offered an interactive, personalized experience + a built-in DIY template for future iterations + an easy to use how-to-design resource for non-designer types being asked to play dual roles. Because thinking strategically and being proactive today means real gains tomorrow.
