Deloitte asked Klein to re-design a multi-day in-person training program based on their leadership development framework. Part of a larger, performance-centered curriculum that develops leaders at every level within their consulting division, the New Leader Program focuses on new managers and includes a “know and go” SharePoint website with social learning features, innovative action planning, and video “commercials” designed to review key concepts and deliver inspirational calls to action.

Practical Guides for Senior Leaders Turned Classroom Facilitors.
One of the challenges was to design a useable, practical instructor guide for the senior leaders and coaches. They had to get the intent of the content quickly. They didn’t have a ton of time to prep. And, they needed a chance to make the content “real” for the participants. Guides included space for leaders to write brief stories and context setters related to various sections before the program began. They were also filled with visuals, tips, and “what’s the big picture reason for this” side-bar features to help them be in the best position to guide, coach, and facilitate. Best of all, it wasn’t 1000 pages thick (94 actually). We like it as a Guide, not a doorstop.
